Abstract; The cobalt(III) porphycene, [Cl-Co(III)(TPrPc)], was dissolved in toluene containing butyl vinyl ether, butanol, and triethylamine, and allowed to stand in the dark. After a few hours, a photo-sensitive complex was formed. An electronic spectral change and NMR spectrum indicate that this complex has a cobalt-carbon bond. After irradiation with visible light, the electronic spectrum changed to the original one under aerobic conditions. We analyzed the products by GC-MS and NMR, and the aldehyde and the alcohol derivatives of acetal were detected with turnover behavior. According to various spectroscopic measurements, we propose the reaction mechanism via an alkylperoxo-cobalt complex. (author abst.)
