Abstract;Engineering Test Satellite-VIII(ETS-VIII) is a flexible spacecraft with Large-Scale Deployable Reflectors and high power solar paddles. It will be launched by an H-IIA launch vehicle from NASDA's Tanegashima Space Center in 2002. On-orbit system identification experiments are necessary for the refining of the attitude control system in order to get accurate modal parameters, because the pre-launch vibration test in fully deployed configuration is impossible for ETS-VIII. This paper presetns a preliminary study of on-orbit system identification experiments on ETS-VIII. (author abst.)
