| Abstract; This paper outlines micro-fabrication technology to make electrophoretic chips of glass and plastics as substrates. Then, it explains the present state of fabrication techniques to produce electrophoretic micro-chips which have minute watercourses with width of 10 to 100 .MU.m in sizes on glass or plastic substrates by photo-fabrication technology. It also explains how to design electrophoretic chips proposed according to various application purposes based on actual migration characteristics. Micro-fabrication technology which will be required for higher- and multi-functionalization of electrophoretic chips in future is also discussed. |
