| Abstract;In 1997 three different kinds of .SIGMA. factor genes were cloned from Arabidopsis thaliana. Two different nuclear genes encoding bacteriophage type RNA polymerase or nuclear-encoded plastid RNA plymerase(NEP) which is seemed to function by targeting respective chloroplast or mitochondrion, were also cloned. These knowledges have clarified fundamental transcriptional device of plastid genes. Taking this chance, interesting sides of the regulatory mechanisms of plastid gene expression has been elucidated. Here the knowledges focused on recently clarified transcriptional mechanisms of photosynthetic plastid genes such as rbcL, psbA, and atpB/E genes are explained. |
