Abstract; In the gene regulation in the adult brain, it is necessary to considerate 2 points of the problem. These to be answered here are: what kind of genes are controlled in their expression and what are these roles in the brain function, and in addition, the problem of how the functional molecules synthesized in the cell body work synapse-selectively to realyse the synapse specificity. In the present report, the authors described the former on the function of Ves 1 family protein and introduced the latter on the result in which an idea of synaptic tag was analysed, regarding the property of Ves1 - 1S protein as a molecular tool.
