Abstract;Controlling the 24-hour rhythm is supposed to be dependent on osscillation of the clock osscillation gene. In the mammalia, the gene regarded as the clock osscillation molecule is mPer gene group, this gene transcription is always promoted by bHLH-PAS and this promotion is suppressed by the synthesized mPER protein itself. Such a negative feedback constituted by this clock gene is assumed as a molecular mechanism making a main body of clock osscillation causing the rhythm of 24-hour period. In the present report, the authors explained a biochemical basis of phosphorylation and proteolysis of this loop recently clarified.
