Abstract;Lipase-catalyzed transesterification of N-3, 5-dimethylbenzyl-trans-2-hydroxymethyl-5-acetoxymethylpymolidine with vinyl acetate was investigated. The effect of water in organic solvent on the enantioselectivity of the lipase from Pseudomonas fluorescens was observed and water-saturated hexane was found to improved the enantioselectivity.
