Abstract;In comparison with the biological dosedistribution of carbon ion in SOBP obtained by the experiments for 4 lung cancer cell lines, the recurrence site in lung cancer after therapy and early reactive images of irradiated lung appeared on CT films were reviewed for 47 patients with stage 1 NSCLC. The tendency of declining biological dose in SOBP from proximal portion to distal one was also recognized in these clinical observations as well. We propose that the ridge filter we have used for all clinical tumors should be reconsidered and revised to fit with individual cancer. (author abst.)
