| Abstract; This study reports contact hypersensitivity reaction (CHR) in ALY/Nsc Jcl-aly/aly (aly mice) which is characteristic of generalized lack of lymph nodes. In aly mice, CHR was not induced. Skin from aly mice was grafted onto BALB/c AnNCrj nu/nu (BALB/c nu/nu mice), and sensitized with picryl chloride through each grafted skin. After 24 hours, Iab+ cells existed in regional lymph node of host BALB/c nu/nu mice (H-2d). Lymph node cells were transfered to C57BL/6J Jcl (H-2b) and these mice acquired CHR to picryl chloride. These results showed that failure to induce CHR in aly mice was due to their generalized lack of lymph nodes, and antigen presenting cells of aly mice were not inpaired in function. (author abst.) |
