Abstract;A 42-year-old woman had sore throat, intermittent fever, myalgia and edematous erythema since 2 weeks before at her first visit to our hospital. Edematous erythema waxed and waned with febrile episodes. Abnormal laboratory findings included increase of peripheral blood neutrophils ; elevated serum levels of CRP, ferritin and IL-6 ; and mild liver dysfunction. Abdominal echo revealed mild splenomegaly. Histopathologically, a biopsy specimen taken from an erythematous lesion on the left arm showed lymphocytic infiltration around dermal small vessels. We diagnosed her as adult Still's disease and treated with NSAID, without remarkable changes. With oral prednisolone 20mg/day, significant improvement of clinical and labdratory findings was observed within 1 week. (author abst.)
