| Abstract;A 68-year-old female developed itchy, scaly erythematous plaques over almost her entire body. She was clinically and histologically diagnosed as mycosis fungoides and was classified in stage IIa according to the TNMB system of classification. She was treated with intravenous administration with interferon.GAMMA. (INF.GAMMA.) at a dosage of 2*106JRU daily for two months and the lesions were completely remitted. But after five months, her skin lesions relapsed and IFN.GAMMA. administrated again gave no clinical improvement. Then, oral etretinate at a dosage of 40mg per day was administrated. Four months later, almost all of her skin lesions disappeared. Oral administration of etretinate can be one of the effective treatment of IFN.GAMMA.-resistant plaque stage MF. (author abst.) |
