| Abstract; We have reported on the methods of the double eyelid operations performed in our clinic and the postoperative complications. 4,160 double eyelid operations were carried out in our clinic from January of 1997 to December of 1998. Approximately 90% of the cases were performed using the non-incisional method. The incidence of the loss of folds was 1.2%, and was not particularly high. Its method is a good option for young patients who request the removal of sutures relatively often (3.5%). In few cases was reported the loss of folds when the mini-incisional method or the total-incisional method was used. The removal of the pretarsal fibrofatty tissues seems to be critical in getting firm folds. The total-incisional method was performed if blepharoplasty or skin excision was necessary.
