Abstract;A 61-year-old woman, who has been suffering from cystitis for several years, has been treated with some drugs including tosufloxacin tosilate. Since then, many dark reddish erythemas with pain recurred in the same site on the face and upper limbs several times a year. Each eruption has been disappeared with pigmentation. She visited our clinic in January 1999. At the first visit, erythema was seen on the upper lip, neck, left ear, left forearm and scar on the right upper arm after vaccination. We diagnosed as fixed drug eruption and examined the causative medicines. The patch test of the causative medicines showed all-negative both in involved and uninvolved skin. Challenge test by tosufloxacin tosilate showed the positive reaction. Others are all negative. Then, the eruption appeared newly on the scar after trauma. Fixed drug eruption on the scar may cause more easily than in normal skin because of a large number of mast cell on the scar. (author abst.)
