Abstract; The patient was a 54-year-old Japanese man who had skin lesions for 15 years. He presented with scattered telangiectasic macules on his cervix and trunk. The multiple reddish-brown macules were observed on bilateral armpits and forearms. The lesions were flared by rubbing, but did not urticate(Darie's sign was not present). Histological examination revealed dense infiltration of mast cells in the upper dermis. Blood chemistry and peripheral blood count were within normal limits. The blood and urinary histamine levels were within normal range. Neither osteolytic lesion nor hepatosplenomegaly were found. Though he was treated with azelastine hydrochloride for 4 months, the skin lesions were not improved. (author abst.)
