Abstract;A mixed solution of poly(di-n-hexylsilane)(PDHS) and 4'-pentyl-4-cyanobiphenyl (5CB) was spread on pure water. The resulting film on the water surface was studied by UV absorption spectroscopy and Brewster angle microscopy. Further, morphologies of the transferred film onto mica substrate were ovsedved by AFM. The monomolecular film of PDHS was found to be formed on the water surface with the assist of 5CB molecule.
