| Abstract; In order to create controlled two-dimensional patterns in molecular level, we propose a novel methodology "molecular tiling". Cyclophane derivatives with various alkyl chains were employed as "molecular unit", and were spread at air/water interface. Properties of tiled monolayer were investigated by surface pressure-area isotherm measurement. Combined tiling method was also examined. The combined tile was made from mixed monolayer of the cyclophane and guanidinium amphiphiles on aqueous guest which can bind to the both amphiphiles. (author abst.) |
