Abstract;We have synthesized the fullerene-linked quaterthiophene(4T) and octithiophene(8T) bearing a disulfide moiety and prepared their selfassembled monolayers(SAM) on Au. Photoelectrochemical measurements of the fullerene-linked 8T on Au in the presence of methyl viologen showed significant cathodic photocurrents when the 8T moiety was photoexcited. In contrast, the fullerene-linked 4T did not form good SAM and showed no photocurrent. (author abst.)
