Abstract;Dinuclear metal complexes of new types, such as heterodinuclear, mixed-spin dinuclear and mixed-valence dinuclear complexes, have been synthesized by the use of compartmental ligands, and their electronic structures and physicochemical properties have been examined. The dinuclear core structures are modulated to model the functions fo bimetallic biosites. Further, new molecular magnetic materials are provided based on bimetallic networks with an alternate array of two kinds of metal ions. (author abst.)
