| Abstract;The excitation energy of Th-229m is known to be 3.5 eV. In order to produce Th-229m through (.GAMMA.,n) reaction, a Th-230 target of high isotopic purity was irradiated by 22 MeV bremsstrahlung and the .ALPHA.-spectrum of the reaction products was examined. The result shows the formation of new .ALPHA.-emitter that has much shorter half-life than Th-229 and its .ALPHA.-energy coincides with the expected .ALPHA.-decay energy of Th-229m. (author abst.) |
