Abstract;Experimental investigation of decay properties of neutron-deficient actinides are of importance. In particular, their .ALPHA.-decay property contributes to our understanding of the systematics of .ALPHA.-decay branching ratios and leads to precise values of nuclear masses in the region of neutron deficient actinides. Previously we identified the new isotopes, 233Am and 237Cm, and observed the .ALPHA.-particle energy of those nuclides which include the 235Am isotope. The half-lives and .ALPHA.-decay branching ratios of the neutron-deficient americium isotopes were determined in the present work. Using the obtained values,we investigated the systematics of .ALPHA.-decay branching ratio in the odd-mass neutron-deficient americium region. It is found that the .ALPHA.-decay of 233Am and 235Am is consistent with the systematics and the observed .ALPHA.-decay is a favored transition respectively. (author abst.)
