Abstract;As the selective AT1 receptor antagonist, valsartan (I), which is indicated for hypertension, is presented. In the comparison with the analogous medicine, the hypotensive action of I is more rapidly and powerfully achieved than losartan potassium. And, I exhibits the action without the effect of the metabolism enzyme, because I is an active form. The knack of the usage including administration and dosage of I, and precautions for use including side effects are described. EBM of I more equivalent to ACE is expected, and I is excellent in the compliance.
