| Abstract;Track maintenance is very closely related with Wheel/Rail dynamics and contact mechanics. In particular, wear and fatigue are main issues of wheel and rail materials. Also, structures supporting rails and wheels have some problems due to wheel/rail dynamic behaviours. This article describes gauge face wear and corrugation of rail, rolling contact fatigue of rail, dynamic behaviour of rail bending stress, and the progress of track settlement or track irregularity from the aspects of vehicle/track interaction, wheel/rail dynamics and contact mechanics.
