| Abstract;In recent days, electromagnetic subjects are discussed in various industrial fields. In railway systems, relationships with electromagnetic field are starting to discuss mainly about linear motor systems. Receiving these conditions, study committee of electromagnetic environment on railway systems started in Institute of Electrical Engineering of Japan(IEEJ) at 1998. This paper describes the outline of these activities. Some measurement methods of magnetic field on railway systems are shown and appropriate measurement method is discussed. Moreover, some measurement results according to this method are shown and guideline for limiting exposure to time-varying electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields to be kept are mentioned with the relation of railway.
