Abstract; The floating track bed using coil springs is a kind of spring-mass system, which can reduce railway vibration, especially structure-borne sound. This system is characterized by using coil springs which is integrated in the concrete slab. One 20m long test slab was constructed in "Rinkai" line and motor trolley running test was conducted in May, 2000. Results from this test show that the floating track bed using coil springs have 7dB advantage on reducing vibration as against ballast mat. (author abst.)
