Abstract; The wheel climb derailment sometimes occurs when the train passes steep curvatures with low speed. To investigate this phenomenon, the authors attempted an experimentation using a model track and model trucks. On the previous report, they said that a wheel climb phenomenon sometimes causes a wheel sliding down phenomenon and that a wheel climb derailment occurs when the wheel climb-up value exceeds wheel slid-down value. Then, the sliding down phenomenon is the most essential factor for the study on the wheel climb derailment. However, the accurate analysis of the phenomenon is deemed to be extremely difficult. The authors tried to calculate the wheel slid-down value, using such data as the wheel lift-up value, the wheel rotation angle and the wheel traveling distance which were obtained by the experiment.
