Abstract; On the J-Rail96 Symposium, the authors reported that the moisture in the atmosphere deeply affected the adhesion coefficient of the dry rails. However, they could not make clear the relationship between adhesion and speed of cars. Recently, they investigated the adhesion on dry rails under various speed of test truck. As the result, they found that the amount of the particulate on dry rails greatly effects the behavior of adhesion coefficient and that the value of the coefficient keep high value after the amount of the particulate piled up on the rail is a accumulated to a specified value.
