Abstract;Friction behavior between wheel and rail plays important role in car dynamics, because it (creep force characteristics) affects the forces between wheel and rail directly. For the purpose of controlling the wheel/rail friction force in the service line, this fundamental study was carried out. This study presents creep force characteristics between wheel and rail on the conditions of existing several interfaced materials, e.g. water, friction modifiers, iron powder and so on, which was acquired by the results using two roller rig testing machine.
