Abstract; The authors proposed a new conception which could easily and precisely measures the longitudinal contact point position between a rail and a wheel with the electrical method when a wheel climb derailment occurs. At the beginning, to certify the accuracy of the experimental apparatus, they made a basic experiment and confirmed the contact point position could be measured with high accuracy. Next, using the experimental apparatus upon the new conception, they made the experiment to investigate the behavior of the longitudinal contact point position between the rail and the wheel when the wheel climbs up on the rail under various rail attacked-angles and various wheel lift-up values. As a result, they confirmed the above mentioned method could easily measure the position with high accuracy. (author abst.)
