Abstract;A new technique to prepare DNA fibers with Ni(III) complexes was developed and the binding structures of some polyamine complexes of Ni(III) were investigated by DNA-fiber ESR spectroscopy. Ni(III)cyclam was found to bind to DNA with two Cl- ions at the axial positions. Ni(III)dioxocyclam on A-form DNA-fiber showed several components; one has no Cl- ion and the other has one Cl- ion at the axial position. Furthermore, one species showed considerable rhombic distortion on the DNA. The bindig structures were found to change with the temperature. (author abst.)
