Abstract;Complexation of anionic iron(III) porphyrin (FeTPPS) with permethylated .BETA.-CD (TMe-.BETA.-CD) has been studied in aqueous solutions by means of UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The pH-dependent complexation was observed. The apparent pKa value of FeTPPS-TMe-.BETA.-CD complex was determined to be 4.2.+-.0.1 from pH titration. Job's plots at pH 1.58 and 5.0 clearly show the formation of 1:1 and 1:2 complexes, respectively. (author abst.)
