| Abstract;Thermotropic liquid crystals having adenine and thymine moieties were prepared. The thermal mesomolphic phases of these compounds were analyzed by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing microscopy. Heating of mixtures of the adenine and thymine derivatives resulted in the formation of the liquid crystals. (author abst.) |
