Abstract;A spectriscopic study on self-assembly of pyrazolylporphyrin 1 bearing an ethyl benzoate group revealed the formation of a cyclic trimer where hydrogen bond and metal coordination hold each porphyrin cooperatively. The large stability for the trimer [1]3 is attributed to the formation of hydrogn bond between pyrazole NH proton and carbonyl oxygen in the ethoxycarbonyl substituent in addition to the metal coordination.
