| Abstract;Whereas CNG model was originally a specially-equipped vehicle developed by Autec japan, New AD VAN CNG model is a one developed fully-fledgedly by NISSAN andawarded type approval as a designated motor vehicle. A leading gas company has been the major user of this model so far. However, because of increasingly higher interest of the people in the environmental issues, government agencies, local municipalities, businesses, and so on have begun planning to introduce lower pollution vehicles. We succeeded in developing a high-quality model which will satisfy every customer, and, we put this model into production line by taking increase of production volume into consideration. The points of this development were: (1) to secure a mileage of 275km by one charge, (2) to secure enough cargo room without sacrificing interior space, (3) a low pollution model which clears ultra-low emission level (a tentatice name, J-ULEV), a technical emission guideline of the Environmental Agency, (4) to obtain the status of designated motor vehicle and to be produced by line production in a plant, (5) high safety fuel system and, (6) excellent maintainability.
