Abstract; We report here unique formation of the mono 1-methylimidazole adduct during equilibrium binding to ferric corrphycene. This is in remarkable contrast to ferric porphyrin where the mono adduct is hardly accumulates. The structural account for the characteristic behavior found in ferric corrphycene was provided on the basis of reactivity changes of ferric iron incorporated into the contracted and trapezoidal coordination core.
