| Abstract; To study and develop the so-called electronic health record(EHR) was started in the middle of 1980's in Japan. In the early stage, one small "hand-made" system and one relatively large system were developed separately. Both systems were working well as digital processing system of clinical record although interoperability was not considered enough. In 1995, MHW's "Electronic health record developing project" began and continued 2 years. In this project, basic studies of security, standardization and user-interface for developing full harvest EHR systems was started and carried even today. The importance of recognizing health care domain models was emphasized recently and some researchers work with this theme successfully. With advanced information technology, now we have some commercial so-called EHR systems of various scales. We hope that with advance of basic studies by researchers of JAMI, full harvest EHR systems will appears in the near future. (author abst.) |
