| Abstract; The term Electronic Patient Record represents a new era of hospital information system. There are, however, several different components that should be separately evaluated to fully understand the meaning of the word. Permanent filing of various record of patient care has now become a-must. Secondly, the nature of data entry by physicians and other medical personnel and its interface are now under discussion. Order entry of various procedures with the delivery of related materials is necessary for hospital management. Teaching of students and junior staffs are necessary as an academic unit in the medical school, and the medical record should offer the ground for discussion. Thus, usually understaffed MI department is struggling to manage above-mentioned multi-functional requirements. (author abst.) |
