Abstract;Operation efficiency measurements and subjective evaluation were carried out for the same tasks on hardcopy and various kind of displays, as a first step to know the difference on human-interface between hardcopy and softcopy. Simple tasks were given to 25 persons as subjects on hardcopy and displays. Answer speed and correct answer rate was measured for objective evaluation. Questionnaires on viewing easiness and degree of fatigue were given to the subjects for subjective evaluation. The objective evaluation showed only slight difference between various working styles; on the other hand the subjective evaluation showed prominent superiority of hardcopy work to the other various display work groups.
