| Abstract;Toner display using insulative particles charged triboelectrically has been investigated. Two types of particles having different optical property and different electric polarity are enclosed between a pair of electrodes with certain air gap. These particles charged triboelectrically to opposite polarity are moved independently to opposite direction by electric field between a pair of electrodes. They show high contrast of white and black reflective image. Movement of particles has threshold to the applied electric field, so they can make image by passive matrix mode. (author abst.) |
