Abstract;Photocarrier generation and transport in conducting polymer, poly(3-alkyllthiophene), PAT are studied by the measurements of current-voltage characteristics and the time of flight using ITO/PAT/Al sandwich type cell. It is found that the cell fabricated with head-tail coupled regioregular poly(3alkyllthiophene) exhibits excellent rectification characteristics, and photovoltaic effect. The carrier mobilities in regioregular PATs are very large compared with those of the non-regular ones. Carrier generation and transport mechanisms of the PAT film will be mentioned. (author abst.)
