| Abstract; We have been proposed a new energy-saving electrostatic imaging process. This process is no requiring the thermal toner fixing. Toner images are formed on a specific type of transfer sheet using a conventional electrostatic transfer process. On the surface of the sheet the fine parallel grooves are formed. These grooves are separated by the micro walls. These micro walls are 4-6 times higher than the toner particle size. The transferred toner particles are attracted to the bottom of the grooves by the electrostatic force and the toner images formed in the grooves are protected by the micro walls between the grooves. The toner images in the grooves on the transfer sheet are easily erased by the electrostatic method using a biased magnetic brush. (author abst.) |
