| Abstract;For my special lecture to commemorate my retirement from Toho University, I review my research on the cortical mechanisms of somesthesis completed in my laboratory in the Department of Physiology, Toho University School of Medicine. This article describes the cortical mechanisms of active touch, based on our experiments in recording single neuronal activity in the postcentral gyrus of awake monkeys. (author abst.) |
