| Abstract; In order to estimate enthalpies of mixing of fluids at high temperature and high pressure, two types of flow calorimeter systems have been developed. To obtain stable high pressure in the liquid flowing system, a assembly of back pressure regulator and oil damper was attached to the outlet of mixing tube. One of the calorimetric unit is using thermomodule for sensing device and which was contained in an oil bath thermostat for the measurement of relatively lower temperature. Another unit using thermocouples array and supported in an air bath thermostat was designed for higher temperature experiment. Two types of high pressure pumps also compared. Enthalpies of mixing of water+ethanol mixtures have been estimated using former calorimeter. Results obtained were agreed with literature values within 3%. Cylinder type of pumps enabled more reproducible measurement than using plunger type of pump system. (author abst.) |
