| Abstract;Linear thermal expansion of the adhesive epoxy resin films in the thickness direction have been investigated using a laser interferometric dilatometer. The Coefficients of linear thermal expansion (.ALPHA.) of the films were measured in the temperature range of 25 to 200.DEG.C.. The thicknesses of films, which were adjusted by changing the rotary speed of the spin coater, were 10,20,50 and 100.MU.m. The average values, .ALPHA., below and above the glass transition temperature, Tg, were dependent on thickness. The .ALPHA.2's above the Tg tend to be higher than the .ALPHA.1's below the Tg. The .ALPHA.1 decreases with increasing thickness, while the .ALPHA.2 increases with thickness. The accuracy of the .ALPHA. ranged over .+-.1-6%(.+-.0.1-2.4*10-5.DEG.C.-1). The density was dependent on thickness. The density dependence of .ALPHA.1 would be due to the difference in the occupation volume of the polymer. In contrast, .ALPHA.2 would depend on the difference in the distribution of the network structure. (author abst.) |
