Abstract;The effect of the heat treatment on the thermal expansivity of four types quartz glass are investigated by means of a interferometry dilatometer, LIX-1, manufactured by Sinku-Riko. The results are as follows; after heat treatment under the steam atmosphere for 8 hours the thermal expansivities of quartz glass;(1) .ALPHA.-T plots of quartz for 1-4 types in repeated measurements example ara shown in Fig.2. The probable error of .ALPHA. can be approximately lowered within 5%. (2) .ALPHA. becomes more than those of as received of heat treatment in air or under the vacuum. (3) The peak of .ALPHA. becomes over 0.8*10-6/K. (author abst.)
