Abstract;Some significant informations of the ion's states of cation exchanged zeolites which may be closely related to catalytic activity are expected to be obtained from thermal analysis of the cation exchanged zeolites. Thermal behavior of Cu-ZSM-5 and Cr-ZSM-5 were investigated systematically by TG-DTA, XRD and DRS. In the case of Cu-ZSM-5, exchanged Cu ion species were varied with temperature of preparation. On the other hand, in Cr-ZSM-5, such a difference was not found, but accompanied by dehydration processes, the change in the valence of CrCr3+ to Cr6+ was observed. (author abst.)
