Abstract;Thermal simulation is one of effective methods for assessment of safety in development of lithium-ion battery. The thermal properties such as specific heat capacity of the battery components are essential for the thermal simulation. Since the chemical composition of the electrode active materials in both anode and cathode changes during charging and discharging, the thermal properties also change with the state of charge of the battery(SOC). In this study, we measure the specific heat capacity of the electrode materials of a lithium-ion battery which is commercially available, and discuss about the variation of the specific heat capacity depending on SOC.
