Abstract; We have attempted to design and synthesize the peptides conjugated with peptide nucleic acids (PNA) in order to create a new functional molecule. In this study, the peptides containing PNA were designed from the sequence of a human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV-1) Rev peptide that can bind the stem-loop IIB of the Rev response element (RRE) RNA. Dissociation constants between the PNA-peptides and RRE were determined by the competition assay using fluorescence anisotropy of Rhod-Rev. (author abst.)
