| Abstract; In view of development of artificial photosynthetic system or molecular device, researches of supramolecular porphyrin arrays became an attractive theme. We have already developed a unique methodology to obtain a giant porphyrin array by self-coordination of imidazolylporphyrinatozinc(II). In this research, this methodology was extended to grow porphyrin array structure on porphyrin SAM developed uniformly on the electrode surface. Conversion of the monolayer structure to the multi-layer brought about an extension of the array length by complementary coordination between zinc and meso-substituted imidazole on SAM. This brought an increase of light absorption in the visible light region. Then a plot of the photocurrent as a function of the absorbance at the irradiating wavelength, i.e. the action spectrum, showed a close correlation between these factors in the whole range of 350-750nm. The total photocurrent generation increased dramatically by this array formation. (author abst.) |
