Abstract;Conformational analysis of periodic polypeptides containing Pro residue, poly(Xaa-Pro-Pro-Pro) (Xaa=Ala,Glu), poly(Xaa-Pro-Pro) (Xaa=Ala,Leu,Gly), and poly(Xaa-Pro) (Xaa=Ala,Glu,Arg,Phe), was tried by experimental and theoretical methods. The CD spectra and optimized results suggest that above periodic polypeptides take new conformations which are different from well-known polyproline-II structure. (author abst.)
