Abstract; In order to investigate the physico-chemical properties of the Fe(III)-OOR species, which are known as reaction intermediates in the oxidations catalyzed by non-heme iron enzymes, we prepared iron(III) complexes with independently-designed tripodal pyridylamine ligands, bis(6-pivalamido-2-pyridylmethyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)amine(BPPA) and bis(2-pyridylmethyl)(6-pivalamido-2-pyridyl methyl)amine(MPPA). The reaction of these complexes and alkylperoxides ROOH (R=alkyl) afforded thermostable and activated mononuclear alkylperoxo iron(III) complexes, respectively, which were characterized by UV-vis, ESR, resonance Raman and ESI mass spectroscopies.
